There
are endless ways of creating a printed image.
I particularly like collographs - these are made much like my
mixed media pictures with natural materials and found objects,
but then get inked up and printed. I build up the images in layers
from one or more 'plates'.
Etching too is a good medium that allows me to make use of my
collage techniques, but the images can also benefit from working
the plate with more traditional tools as well.
From
potato print to aquatint, I utilise all sorts of printing techniques,
sometimes combining two or more to suit the project in hand.
Although
traditionally the idea of printing is to be able to produce images
in large numbers, the beauty for me is that with my methods, no
two are the same.
